I was born and bred in Nottingham, UK (the place where Robin Hood comes from). This is the place I call home. I started my first business aged 13 selling lingerie and bobbles to staff and students. This was done partly out of necessity (I wanted the expensive trainers and my mum & dad wasn’t about to buy them), and opportunity – I discovered I loved sales and handling money. I left school with nine GCSE’s grades A* to B. I went to college and did the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) alongside A-Levels. During this time, I passed my driving test and started an astrology business.

Aged 19, I moved to London, where I achieved a first honours degree in Accounting with Marketing at Middlesex University;I went straight onto City University to get a Masters in Investment Management.

In the same month of graduating I formed Boogles Ltd with £150 (my mum gave me £50, and I used £100 of my overdraft). Having never had a full time 9 to 5 job in my life – the rate race never appealed to me. I always wanted to start my own business – and I’m very passionate about enterprise, and I never thought I stood any chance in the city. I didn’t fit in. I wore ‘too much gold’ [jewelry] and I just had no interest in trying to work my way up some ladder. There was no point… I was convinced that BUSINESS was the way to go… And so BOOGLES LTD was formed.

Lisa is a serial entrepreneur and holds various directorships in various industries including telecoms, publishing, hair & beauty as well as finance. She has franchised a business and won various awards in Business including: Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2007 with Precious Online and in 2008 Enterprising Business Award and has been nominated and a finalist in numerous others including Boogles being short listed to the final 5, out of 14,500 entries for Best Bookkeeping Practice Lucas Awards in 2009 and 2011 and Boogles being short listed for Best Accounting Franchisor in 2011 by the BKN awards. In 2012 & 2013 Boogles won Best Accounting Franchisor award. In 2015 Boogles won Best Bookkeeping Business London, Accountancy International award. In 2016 Lisa was the recipient of the BE Mogul Award.

Lisa coaches and does talks on Cashflow and Money Management. Lisa supports the charity The MS Society. A speaker, consultant and an avid net-worker, Lisa enjoys meeting people and working on projects with like-minded individuals.

Lisa is a former Ambassador for Enterprise UK. The government organisation to encourage people to have ideas and make them happen. Lisa is a former member of the ICB and the AAT.

Lisa is the Finance Director for various UK companies and sits on the board of others in a variety of different industries, including: marketing, property, hair and beauty and publishing.
